Ex-PPP governor Latif Khosa joins PTI

Latif Khosa, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and a former governor of Punjab, has announced his decision to join the PTI.

Khosa, wearing a PTI banner around his neck, made this announcement while speaking to the media at his Lahore home.

Speaking to the media, a senior lawyer stated that Liaquat Ali Khan was killed, but the perpetrators were never caught. He also mentioned that the founder of the PP, Zulfikar Bhutto, faced a similar fate.

The lawyer expressed a desire for a fresh start by putting an end to hatred. Referring to Article 7 of the Constitution, he emphasized that the country belonged to the people, not even to the judiciary.

According to him, Article 5 emphasized loyalty to the people and the Constitution. He pointed out that if someone is to be called a hero, it should be former Chief Justice Cornelius. The lawyer noted that the country is currently experiencing persecution, and people demand protection for their lives and property. He urged people not to fear speaking the truth.

The former governor hoped for an end to the politics of hatred and highlighted his commitment to both his role as a lawyer and his involvement in politics as a form of worship.

He suggested that adhering to the Constitution is crucial for progress, citing historical instances where the abrogation of the Constitution led to damage to the state. He recalled standing up against a dictator who threatened former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.

Questioning the pattern of removing prime ministers, he stressed that those upholding the Constitution are vulnerable. He emphasized that the nation is once again relying on the courts, and institutions have a responsibility to serve the public using taxpayers' money.

Praising Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa for ensuring timely elections, the lawyer extended tribute to the returning officers and district returning officers who were appointed from the judiciary.

In conclusion, he asserted that the army and institutions belong to everyone in the nation.
