ECP likely to release general elections schedule towards December-end

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) shared some important news last Friday. They said that the plan for the big general elections, which will happen on February 8 next year, will be told to everyone 54 days before the election day.

The boss of the Election Commission, Sikandar Sultan Raja, explained this in response to questions from the media. He said, "If you want to know when the election plan will be revealed, just start counting 54 days back from February 8."

According to the boss, this means it will be around the third week of December in 2023 when they will announce the election schedule. He told a group of reporters in Islamabad that they are getting everything ready for the elections. The lists of areas where people will vote have also been updated.

CEC Raja assured everyone that the election timetable will be announced on time. He mentioned that the people in charge of different areas and the officials who will help in the election process will be chosen at the right time.

The ECP also released a final list that shows the sizes of the areas where people will vote for the national and provincial assemblies. This announcement helped clear worries in the political world about possible delays in the elections. It also denied reports that the elections might be postponed.
