Thousands chant pro-Palestine slogans at JI’s Gaza Solidarity March

At the Gaza Solidarity March on Sunday, which was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and took place at Punjab University (PU) Campus Bridge in Lahore, thousands of people, many of them women and children, chanted anti-Israel and pro-Palestine slogans and called for an end to Israeli aggression against Palestinians.

Dr. Nawaf Takruri, the leader of Hamas, also spoke to the Gaza March participants via the internet.

Speaking to the demonstrators, JI Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq chastised the Muslim leaders, claiming that the recent Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting produced a weak proclamation that had no bearing on Israel or the US and avoided taking concrete steps to assist the people of Gaza.

He then added, "We thought there would be an announcement of a boycott of Israel and an invitation to the summit for the leader of Hamas."

Rather, he asserted that the conference was arranged only in an effort to calm the animosity of Muslims worldwide.

The head of JI emphasized that until the Muslim authorities united, the issues facing the Islamic world would remain unsolved

The large-scale demonstration, according to JI Pakistan Ameer, was a "message of death" to the enemy. "The imperialist forces created the evil state of Israel." The Palestinian people are adamantly resisting the occupation soldiers and have never embraced Israel.

He claimed that protests against Benjamin Netanyahu are also being held by Israelis. Our open demonstration tells Gaza that we are fighting alongside them and that they are not alone.

"I wanted to see the prime minister, chief minister, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) politicians in this march, but the political personalities are currently busy lobbying in Balochistan and Sindh [for the forthcoming general elections]," said Sirajul Haq, criticizing the country's leaders.
