Asif Zardari alleges Imran Khan offered PPP six ministries

Asif Ali Zardari, a former president and co-chair of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has leveled new accusations against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the previous ruling party. He claimed that Imran Khan's government offered his party six ministries to join it in the center in his most recent appearance with Geo News.

The claims support a purported tape leak from last year, in which a real estate mogul conveyed Imran Khan's message to Asif Ali Zardari. The property tycoon asked the PPP to back the PTI-led government in opposing the motion of no-confidence against Imran Khan in the audio exchange that was leaked.

According to Asif Zardari, he was told to leave the country in order to support the PTI government's desire to create an alliance with a PPP that is "minus-Zardari".

Additionally, he charged that the PTI was ruining bilateral ties and Pakistan's economy.

In order to maintain his position of power till 2028, a PPP source further said that Imran Khan intended to stage "RO elections"—rigged elections—with the assistance of a military commander.

He claimed that Pakistan would have had such a dire economic crisis if Imran had been successful that a truckload of cash would have been required just to purchase a single litre of milk.

Zardari stated that his party is vigorously campaigning as the polls draw near and that the general elections on February 8, 2024, will undoubtedly take place.
